:::DIY WEDNESDAY:::
I'm a BIG fan of simple! The crunchy mom movement had me at "100 Uses for Coconut Oil" so when I saw this SUPER easy pore cleansing mask on Pinterest, I had to try it.
Want to know what's in it?!
Fine, fine. I'll oblige. ;)
All you need is:
2 tsp healing (bentonite) clay (I use THIS brand. You can probably find it locally, but if not, it's available on Amazon. And it's honestly about the same price.)
2 tsp apple cider vinegar (I use THIS brand. Again, feel free to check your grocery store but if you can't find it, you can order it! The bottle I got at the health food store was actually more expensive than that. Haha!)
DONE!
You can add 2-3 drops of essential oils if you want. I used a Focus blend, but tea tree oil, frankincense, and lavender are also popular. ;)
If you've ever pampered yourself with a facial mask before, you know the drill! Mix it up (with a silicone spatula/spoon, NOT metal!), spread evenly avoiding the mouth, eyes, and nostrils, and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
You may feel it tingle. That means it's WORKING! How does it work? Why these two ingredients?
Well, I have to give credit to Kelly at Primally Inspired for the recipe and the breakdown! But basically, ACV helps to rebalance your body's natural pH, which keeps it from getting too dry or oily and eliminates blemishes. The clay literally pulls the impurities out of your skin, and I can verify that after just ONE time, my nose (which is a blackhead MAGNET) felt so much smoother, and my whole face felt fresh.
I think I'd like to do a couple posts kind of explaining the magic of ACV and bentonite clay. Would anybody be interested? Oh, please say yes! ;)
What do you think? Simple enough? You know you want to try it now!
